We were walking in one huge orgy today…everywhere we looked, couples were mating…

These beautiful butterfly-like bugs were deep black with red velvetty spots on their wings….gorgeous!

And I marvelled at the sheer size of this little bug’s reproductive organ…I don’t mean to make it vulgar, but seriously…how important can reproduction be when the size of your reproductive organ is about a quarter of your entire body!

What struck me, was the total vulnerability of mating couples…without any trouble at all, we could have crushed them, or they could have been eated by birds…mating couples are vulnerable like sleeping creatuers…

I had to pick up these snails before my dogs would, but they would not come loose. A long white tentacle connected one snail to the other…fascinating! But again, extremely vulnerable!
