While the whole world is dressed for the occaison…
…so am I!
May I ask some special attention for my self-applied first time ever gel nails? Took me two hours to find out I am not a gel-nail kind of lady…or, by the looks of my brownish black nails…perhaps not much of a lady at all…but here I call to Lisa Stansfield for my defence…
How my lady-like nails got to be this brownish black, you ask? Well….look who came to visit me…they didn’t make it through the underpainting without traces of it…
Mixed Media Painting in progress…
Is it a house elf? Is it a reincarnation of super grover? Is it a little piece of my unconscious self? Or just a coincidence in paint? What is art anyway? All I know is that I can’t not paint. I could. But I’d go mad. Even on Boxing Day. Without my paints the smile in my Christmas sElfie would have been different…probably not this wholehearted. Despite the joy at the games me and my family have played in the past days…despite our 95-year old granddad who’s been to dinner with us and my parents…despite the joy and gratitude for still having my father, who was nearly no longer with us twice… Every bit of joy I feel blossoms to fully flower when I paint. And whatever it is that I’m painting, I love it. There is this momentum where the creature that appears on my canvas feels nothing short of a new love. Let’s see what it grows into…
Meanwhile…Happy Boxing Day everyone!
