Another generous offer
A few weeks back I received a message from Gina offering me a wonderful set of Daniel Smith watercolor sticks to try for a demo video and look what she’s sent me! An amazing set of Daniel Smith watercolor sticks for another amazing art challenge plus some more gorgeous art supplies I can’t wait to try. But first, this Color-My-Page art challenge that you can take part in too if you like. And this week there is an Art Giveaway. More info in this post!

Smart thinking: from sticks to pans
Gina wrote how she loved the Daniel Smith watercolor sticks. They seem a bit cheaper than the tubes and also, she figured out that if you cut the sticks into chunks, you can fill pans with it and thus create your own paint box. This way she makes these sticks incredibly versatile! I’m not an easy one to convince to buy crayons or paint sticks because it’s so different to the way I normally work. But Gina came up with a wonderful application that made these sticks very interesting to me! I tried a green one that I got from Caroline in the last Color-My-Page art challenge and was pleasantly surprised by the intensity of the paint and how easily a wet brush picks up paint from it! The fact that Gina put them into these pans makes them so much easier to work with when working with a lot of colors at the same time. So my fingers are itching to go!

So…now vote my colors and win the demo painting!!!
Right below you will find the color chart and the poll where you can vote for your 5 favorite colors. The top 3 will be used for the Color-my-Page demo video. If you would like to take part in the giveaway of the original demo painting, then please leave a comment below this blog post so that I can contact you should your name pop up…♥

I piked 5 colors and thank you for doing a give away that is awesome!

Le am glad that you will do this challenge and a review of Daniel Smith sticks, I have one stick only, and I think I will use it the same way Gina did because I am not using it often, but it’s a very nice color.

Very curious about these sticks that seems to work!
Love to hear your opinion about the sticks. Hard to find at a reasonable price where I live. 🙂
That bloodstone is amazing, I hope to try it one day, and generally I’d love to try that series of their paints made from precious stones, very interesting. 🙂 Oh, and I voted! 🙂
Voted, too.
My fave is definitely Phthalo Turquoise, very versatile..

I’d be gobsmacked to win this challenge result! Thanks for the generous offer!
I just picked the ones I would like to try.
I voted Mandy! Thanks for sharing.
I really would like to see/win anunderwater scene and that was the reason for my color choices.
Voted! This list looked so fun it was hard to resist. Love your videos and your works with your tools.
I love these challenges, so enjoyable, you make amazing piece.
Groetjes en keep up the good work. Groetjes Annemiek
🙂 Ik voel me idd erg verwend!
Hi Mandy… Look forward to the learning the top three… I hope bloodstone and sodalite are among them. Love your videos!
I’m excited about this challenge and can’t wait to see if Bloodstone Genuine gets voted in. What an interesting color as well as the other genuine’s too. Best wishes and can’t wait to see!
Can’t wait for this challenge! I really want to see Bloodstone Genuine and how it behaves….seems like a unique color as well as a lot of the other genuine’s. Best wishes!
Such a fun challenge. Good luck!
I love the undersea … Probably my next purchase and I think it would go well with the bloodstone
Ik kijk alweer uit naar het resultaat. Jouw creatief omgaan met wat zich aandient in kleur, vorm en materiaal, werkt altijd inspirerend.
Ben erg benieuwd wat je er van maakt
Voted! I love your paints so much!
Got to love those quinacdones! The sticks are fun but I’ve always loved DS watercolors.
Lovely colors! Hansa Yellow Deep is gorgeous. Looking forward to see what you paint this time. La vieille dame was just stunning!
Hoi Mandy, Hoe gaat het? Mooie kleuren. I find many of them are more unsual and unique to Daniel smith and look like they would produce something equally unique. The pinks are so vibrant and blues are so deep, I can’t wait to see the result.
What a nice gift. These are some lovely colors. Daniel Smith meant for these sticks to be used in a pan for those worried about traveling with tube paints or for those who like buying pans. The sticks have more pigment and they last longer then tubes. Can’t wait to see what colors win.
Magenta, magenta…. ooops, that was another poll. I did it. I voted. Can’t wait to see this one too!
Hi Mandy! I have wanted to try the sticks for ages! I cant waot to see what you come up with! I just love the old woman that you did last time xxxxxx Im also going to try Old Holland watercolours next year if I can, your video makes them look wonderful!
Hoi Mandy,
